What is the Tricel biocycle alternative and how does it works?
Tested in compliance with EN12566-3 CE Certification, Tricel Novo plants provide a simple and affordable solution with high-quality wastewater treatment. It also ensures compliance with these environmental protection regulations.
How does the biocycle by Tricel works?
Stage 1: the primary settlement chamber
On the first stage of wastewater treatment, the grease and the mud will be separated from the water. The grease will stay on the surface and the mud will go to the bottom of the tank.
Stage 2: the aeration chamber
In this compartment, the wastewater treatment involves aerobic breakdown. Masses of naturally occurring bacteria inhabit specially designed filter media.
The aerobic bacterias are going to digest the pollution from the wastewater. These bacteria are sustained with air, which is continuously supplied from a purpose-built pump in the unit’s top section.
Stage 3: final settlement chamber
In the third stage of wastewater treatment, the suspended sludge containing bacteria is carried with the liquid into the settlement chamber and settles to the bottom of the chamber.
From there, a continuous sludge return system pumps it back to the primary settlement chamber. The remaining treated liquid now meets the required standard to be safely passed out of the Tricel system.

The size of your Tricel Novo unit
This part is one of the most important as the right sizing goes hand in hand with the efficiency of the treatment. If the domestic wastewater treatment system is not sized correctly, the effluent can pollute the local environment. Such issues result in damaged wells or water sources and cause problems for public health.
How to determine the size of your system?
The common metric used to calculate the size of a residential wastewater treatment solution is the Population Equivalent or PE. According to the definition of the OECD:
Population equivalent (in waste-water monitoring and treatment) refers to the amount of oxygen—demanding substances whose oxygen consumption during biodegradation equals the average oxygen demand of the waste water produced by one person. For practical calculations, it is assumed that one unit equals 54 grams of BOD per 24 hours
