Tricel celebrates World Mental Health Day.

Today, we mark World Mental Health Day across the Tricel Group. The World Mental Health Day is an annual event observed worldwide on October 10th. Its goals are to raise awareness about mental health issues, promote mental well-being, and advocate for efforts to aid those with mental health challenges.

The day allows the Tricel Staff to unite behind the 2023 theme, “Mental health is a universal human right”. To accomplish this, we can raise awareness about mental health, improve our knowledge, and support actions that promote and protect employees’ mental health. Wearing green ribbons is a simple yet powerful way to show support for mental health awareness. It sends a clear message that Tricel values the well-being of its staff and acknowledges the importance of mental health in the workplace.

It’s a crucial day for fostering understanding, empathy, and solidarity with those who experience mental health conditions, and it encourages open conversations about mental health in all spheres of life.

Tricel’s culture is very people-centric, and employee well-being is a core value. Well-being refers to an employee’s feeling of health, happiness, and comfort on a physical and psychological level. By conducting regular employee engagement surveys, performance reviews, and regular company-wide and one-on-one communication, we promote regular interaction and communication about work-life balance, job satisfaction, and employee welfare. Tricel’s Sports & Social Club also provides diverse and fun social activities outside the workplace, most recently Coasteering in North Kerry in the coming weeks. In addition, Tricel fosters a positive, respectful, and supportive workplace through our Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion policies.

Today, we look to shine a particular light on mental health awareness and learn more about how we can appropriately support one another when dealing with issues in both life and work. Today’s initiatives include wearing the green ribbon, which shows colleagues that we care about their mental health. Insightful videos are available throughout the sites, including  Neil Kelder’s video on “Building your resilience in the face of uncertainty”. Tricel celebrates this day to promote a mental health-friendly workplace and foster a more productive and supportive environment.
