Pumping station in detail

Overview

First of all, pump stations are used when gravity drainage is not possible on an installation. The objective of the tank is to collect the sewage or foul water from low-lying developments and pump it. The pump works at intervals to pump the sewage treatment plant or wastewater treatment solution.

The float switch inside the tank activates the pump when the level of wastewater reaches a certain volume. It allows the pump to work only when it needs to. The whole pump process is self-controlled with the use of the float. Control floats are set to turn on and off at when the level of pumping reaches a specific volume.

For example: If you are offsite for a while and don’t produce wastewater, then the pump won’t work.

Pumping chambers contain a chamber, pump, pump controls, float and/or an alarm, based on individual requirements. Multiple and backup pumps are also available.

All our pump stations are designed to meet the building requirements, including concerning the Drainage and Waste
Water Disposal document.

Testimonies & case studies pump stations

“Where foul drainage from a dwelling or building is to be pumped, the effluent receiving chamber should be sized to contain 24 hours inflow to allow for disruptions due to power failures or breakdown. The minimum daily discharge of foul drainage should be taken as 150 litres per day per person for domestic use.”
