Tricel Product Registration

Overview

Once your Tricel Novo wastewater treatment plant has been installed, a Tricel representative should come to site to do the commissioning of the plant.

COMMISSIONING CERTIFICATE

You or your builder will receive a certificate of commissioning via email. This document will contain your tank details, along with your specific model type and tank number, which are needed to organise your maintenance contract.

“The Water Services Act 2017 requires water services authorities to maintain a register of domestic waste water treatment systems in their functional areas.

Under the Act, owners of domestic waste water treatment systems are required to ensure that their systems are on the register. Your registration will contribute to the protection of Ireland’s ground and surface waters.” Source: protectourwater.ie

    Serial Number

    The serial number can be found on the metal plate next to the green blower housing. Please note you may have to clear the area of soil to see clearly. On the photo, the serial number is 10743.


    Tank Number

    The tank number corresponds to the model of your Novo tank. It can be found on the metal plate next to the green blower housing. Please note you may have to clear the area of soil to see clearly. On the photo, IE-8G-AF is the model of the tank, a.k.a. the product type.

    The importance of desludging (emptying) your Novo wastewater treatment plant

    When the sludge is occupying 50% of the volume of the primary chamber desludging is required, this is when the sludge is 700mm deep.

    Desludging gets done with a vacuum tanker (Tricel recommend the use of a licensed company).

    Tricel Novo Maintenance

    Regular maintenance by the homeowner

    A certain amount of maintenance is required on an on-going basis to ensure that the system is working correctly, this is your responsibility as a homeowner.

    Annual maintenance by Tricel

    Your Tricel Novo requires a full service every year to guarantee the efficiency of the plant is maintained. During this visit, our technician will check the sludge level and inform you on whether or not desludging is required. More information about the checks performed during the yearly maintenance visit can be found on the manual as well as on our Novo Maintenance dedicated page.

    Warranties

    Please see below details of the warranties for:

    • Tricel Novo wastewater treatment plants
    • Tricel Vento septic tanks
    • Tricel Puraflo packaged filter systems

     

    Process guarantee
    The process is guaranteed to meet the designed Effluent Discharge Standard for the life of the plant
    provided that:

    • All aspects of the Tricel Novo Installation and Technical Manual are adhered to.
    • The flows and loads do not exceed those stated on the design sheet.
    • There is sufficient hardness in the water where nitrification is required.
    • Grease from commercial kitchens is not present in the influent.
    • Performance is measured after the process has matured.
    • Biological inhibitors are not present in the influent.
    • The pH is 6 to 9.
    • The unit is commissioned within 1 year of purchase.

    Warranty period
    The warranty period for mechanical parts in the Tricel Novo system is 12 months from date of purchase.
    The GRP structure of the Tricel Novo plants carry a 10-year warranty from date of purchase.

    Parts covered under warranty
    Tricel (Killarney) cover all parts of the Tricel Novo range to be free from material defect and workmanship defect providing the system is in normal working conditions. Tricel (Killarney) sole responsibility under this warranty is limited to repairing, exchanging or replacing any component or part they judge to be defective within the warranty period as stated above. Any defective parts must be returned to the factory or named distributor.

    Warranty limitations/exemptions
    Tricel (Killarney) shall not be liable for loss incurred because of interruption of service or for consequential damages, labour or expense due to a fault, nor shall this constitute a cause for the cancellation of the contract of purchase and sale. Specifically exempt from this warranty are limited life consumable components subject to normal wear and tear, such as air pump vanes and filters.

    Chargeable non-warranty work
    Service charges incurred (including parts and labour), due to unauthorized alteration, accidental damage, improper use, abuse, tampering, failure to follow installation instructions or failure to follow operating and maintenance procedures, are not covered by this warranty and are not assumed by Tricel (Killarney).
    All service visits for non-warranty work are chargeable.

    Process guarantee
    The process is guaranteed to meet the designed Effluent Discharge Standard for the life of the plant provided that:

    • All aspects of the Tricel Vento Technical Manual are adhered to.
    • The flows and loads do not exceed those stated on the design sheet.

    Why is maintenance important?

    In Ireland, there are approximately 500,000 wastewater treatment systems and most of them are septic tanks. Lack of tank desludging and maintenance of wastewater treatment system is an issue as this poses risks to health or environment.
