The Danish company Biokube A/S has been acquired by leading European engineering and composites company Tricel. Biokube is a leading manufacturer of packaged wastewater treatment systems in the Nordic regions, with a growing presence internationally in many key areas. In addition to this acquisition, Tricel has acquired two other international businesses in recent months to strengthen its market leadership.
Biokube A/S represents an excellent fit for Tricel’s Environment Division, which operates primarily in European markets (Ireland, the UK, France, Germany, and Belgium). With this acquisition, the Tricel Environment Division will expand its capabilities into new product and geographic markets, while Biokube will see increased investment, enhanced distribution, and a new customer base. As a standalone business within Tricel Environment, Biokube A/S will continue to operate in its current format with a key focus on business development.
Tricel is pleased to continue working with Biokube management and staff with Peter Sloth as Managing Director and Henrik Bebe as CTO. During a period of transition, we are also fortunate to have the support and involvement of the founder, Peter Tårnhøj.
Commenting on the acquisition: Peter TÃ¥rnhøj said: “We are delighted to have found our ideal partner and future custodian of our business in Tricel. We are confident that this will be a great partnership, and Tricel has already promoted the best of Danish engineering by bringing Biokube to new international markets.“
Commenting on behalf of Tricel, Mike Stack, CEO, said: “As with all our acquisitions, we are delighted to have found another European Union-based business of Biokube’s quality and capability. We intend to protect and nurture the excellent business built and continue supporting it throughout the next phase of its ambitious international expansion plan.“
