Pump stations are installed when gravity drainage is not possible. Their main purpose is to collect sewage or foul water from low-lying developments and transfer it to or from a sewage treatment plant or septic tank.
The system works automatically through a float switch inside the tank. When the wastewater reaches a set level, the float activates the pump, which then operates only when required. This ensures efficient and controlled pumping. For example, if no wastewater is produced while you are away from the property, the pump will not operate unnecessarily.
A typical pumping chamber includes the tank, pump, controls, float switch, and in some cases an alarm. Depending on the site, multiple pumps or backup pumps can also be installed for added reliability.
All our pump stations are manufactured to comply with building regulations, including the Drainage and Waste Water Disposal document.

Testimonies & case studies pump stations
“Where foul drainage from a dwelling or building is to be pumped, the effluent receiving chamber should be sized to contain 24 hours inflow to allow for disruptions due to power failures or breakdown. The minimum daily discharge of foul drainage should be taken as 150 litres per day per person for domestic use.”
For further details about this regulation, you can consult their technical guidance document published in 2010.
