Tricel Vento: A Reliable Choice for Septic Tanks in Ireland
If you’re looking for a reliable and long-lasting septic tank in Ireland, the Tricel Vento is one of the best options available. It’s designed and manufactured right here in Ireland, so it’s built to handle local conditions and regulations.
How It Works
The Tricel Vento is a simple but effective system. It holds the wastewater long enough for the heavy solids to sink to the bottom (forming sludge), while lighter materials float to the top (forming scum). The liquid that remains in the middle flows out through an outlet pipe to a percolation area or another type of disposal system.
This process helps clean the water before it’s safely released into the ground, protecting both people and the environment.
Strong, Lightweight and Easy to Install
Made from high-density polyethylene using advanced blow moulding technology, the Tricel Vento is both tough and lightweight. That means it’s easier and faster to install than heavier tanks, especially on difficult sites.
Built to Last
The tank meets EN12566-1 standards, which means it’s tested for safety and performance. It’s strong, resistant to damage, and built to last for many years with minimal maintenance.
Made in Ireland for Irish Conditions
This market-leading product is designed specifically for use in Ireland’s wastewater systems. Whether you’re dealing with seasonal weather, difficult ground, or planning permission, the Vento is a trusted solution across the country.
Buying a septic tank in Ireland is a long-term investment, so it makes sense to choose something durable and proven. The Tricel Vento is one of the most popular septic tanks in Ireland because it’s efficient, easy to install, and built to meet Irish standards.
How does a septic tank work ?
Inside our Tricel Vento, the waste water is processed in three steps.
Stage 1:
Wastewater flows by gravity into the tank and is diverted downwards with a T piece where the solids and heavier material settle to the base of the unit. A small amount of anaerobic breakdown occurs at this stage.
Stage 2:
The lighter solids float to the top and form a scum and an outlet pipe fitted to the unit ensures that only the liquid element flows into the percolation area. This specifically designed dip pipe prevents the scum from passing into the percolation area which may result in blocked pipes.
Stage 3:
The effluent exits the septic tank for its final stage as it penetrates through the specially designed percolation area.

Case study
Read the full case study of a septic tanks Ireland upgrade using Puraflo modules by Tricel at Claran National School.
In this article, you’ll discover the entire project journey from start to finish.
Following the decision to extend Claran National School, the site engineer, Patrick J Newell, carried out a full site assessment. As part of this review, he recommended upgrading the existing wastewater treatment system, which included a septic tank that no longer met current standards.
Consequently, the school needed to find a modern and efficient solution to meet the increased capacity and comply with the latest Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines. To achieve this, they identified the need to replace the current septic tank installation and implement a new system using Puraflo modules.
