Household wastewater treatment plants by Tricel
Overview
Throughout the years, Tricel has been positioning itself as a leader in the household wastewater treatment industry here in Ireland, but not only. Our bestseller, the Tricel Novo which is a wastewater treatment plant, is reliable, cost-effective and trustworthy… Three adjectives that have been convincing many households everywhere in the country, but not only. Our plant is made of SMC, which is a highly resistant and durable material, yet considered as one of the lightest to work with. From a more technical perspective, our treatment process operates in three different steps throughout three different chambers: the primary settlement chambers, the aeration chamber and the final settlement chamber. Finally, it has been made in compliance with EN12566-3 CE Certification, respecting the environmental regulations.

How a Tricel Novo Works?
Stage 1: the primary settlement chamber
In the primary settlement chamber, anaerobic breakdown takes place into this first stage of the effluents treatment. As the wastewater is entering into the domestic wastewater treatment system, the solids are dropping to the bottom, becoming automatically detached from the liquid.
Stage 2: the aeration chamber
Secondly, aerobic breakdown is introduced. As the liquid moves through the filter media, the bacteria (sustained by an air compressor) are getting fed by the waste and eradicate it from the liquid.
Stage 3: final settlement chamber
Last but not least, the soon-to-be treated domestic sewage flows from the aeration chamber into the final settlement chamber. Once again, the suspended sludge will settle to the chamber’s bottom and will be pumped back to the first purification zone via an airlift system. The remaining liquid now meets the required standard and can pass out of the Tricel system.
Distance to respect from your household wastewater treatment plant to your housing in Ireland:
As a potential buyer, there are a few things you need to know about the installation of your sewage treatment equipment (septic tank included). You need to respect a few rules regarding the distance you will be putting from your domestic wastewater treatment system to your dwelling. The Epa code of Practice created a distance calculator to prevent any type of dysfunction of your plant and to ensure the quality of your effluents.
According to the regulations, your sewage treatment plant has to be:
– 5 metres away from surface water soakaway
– 10 metres away from watercourse or stream
– 10 metres away from open drain
– 50 metres away from any lake or foreshore
– 7 metres away from your house
But that’s not it. Trees and site boundaries such as fences have to be 3 metres apart from your domestic wastewater treatment system and 4 meters apart from the road. For the homeowners equipped with a percolation area, a 10-metre distance has to be warranted from a wastewater treatment facility to another.
